Great Western Exploration has begun a 3,000m air core drilling campaign at the Diorama copper-gold target in its Yerrida North Project in Western Australia.
The Diorama target is located in the Yerrida Basin, approximately 70km from the DeGrussa copper-gold deposit owned by Sandfire Resources
It was identified as a potential DeGrussa-style system, initially defined by a significant copper anomaly. The Yerrida North Project is located approximately 800km north-east of Perth. The site is situated next to the Bryah Basin, an area known for the DeGrussa and Monty copper-gold deposits, which are classified as volcanic-hosted massive sulphide systems.
No drilling has previously taken place at Diorama. According to the company, field mapping at the site revealed gossanous quartz associated with limited surface outcrop, with some mapped areas extending more than 100m. Much of the target area has shallow cover, which may conceal copper mineralisation beneath the surface.
