Willis Towers Watson buys Redefind to bolster cryptocurrency and digital asset insurance offerings for institutional and individual clients.
Willis Towers Watson (WTW) has acquired Redefind, a digital asset insurance platform, to strengthen its presence in cryptocurrency and tokenised asset protection. The financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed, but the move aligns with WTW’s strategy to serve clients in digital finance markets.
Redefind’s platform focuses on non-custodial insurance, covering recovery costs such as forensic investigations and legal proceedings rather than asset market value. The service targets both institutional and individual customers, with an initial launch planned in the UK before global expansion.
Redefind’s co-founders, Richard Daws and Connor Edward, have joined WTW following the transaction. The platform uses cryptographic proof of ownership to insure assets historically considered difficult to cover.
