US stock futures retreated early Wednesday, with Dow Jones futures dropping 0.55% to below 49,350, as investors assessed escalating US-Iran tensions. S&P 500 futures declined 0.09% near 7,620, while Nasdaq 100 futures edged down 0.01% to around 30,700 during European trading hours.

The pullback follows a record-setting session on Wall Street, where the Dow Jones rose 0.45%, the S&P 500 gained 0.13%, and the Nasdaq 100 added 0.03%. Technology stocks, particularly semiconductors and AI-related firms, drove gains, with Hewlett Packard Enterprise surging 19.5% and Marvell Technology jumping 32.5% after bullish commentary from Nvidia’s CEO.

Geopolitical risks remain in focus after US Central Command reported intercepting Iranian missile and drone strikes targeting Kuwait and Bahrain, prompting US retaliatory strikes on Iran’s Qeshm Island.
