The Birds Eye owner adds capacity to meet demand for affordable frozen products amid cost-of-living pressures.
Nomad Foods has allocated £2.2m to install a new potato-waffle line at its Lowestoft factory, boosting annual production by 45 million units. The move targets sustained demand for budget-friendly frozen meals as inflation squeezes household budgets.
The company previously reported a 2.2% drop in 2025 sales to €3.03bn and a 16% decline in operating profit to €325.4m. Nomad aims to cut €200m in costs by 2028 to offset inflation and fund reinvestments, including the Lowestoft expansion.
The facility supplies the UK and Ireland, where frozen food sales have remained resilient despite broader grocery slowdowns.
