SLB will integrate Tachyus’s reservoir modeling software, deployed at over 7,500 wells, to enhance data-driven decision-making for oil and gas operators.
SLB has agreed to acquire Tachyus, a Houston-based developer of reservoir modeling and optimization software, for an undisclosed sum. The deal aims to expand SLB’s digital oilfield capabilities by incorporating machine learning and physics-based tools for real-time reservoir management.
Tachyus’s flagship platform, Aqueon, is used at more than 7,500 wells worldwide, offering solutions for waterflood management, production optimization, and pressure forecasting. The software enables rapid scenario analysis, allowing operators to adjust strategies within minutes as conditions change.
SLB highlighted growing demand for continuous reservoir management tools that support both short-term operational adjustments and long-term field development. The acquisition will complement SLB’s existing digital platforms, strengthening its position in the digital oilfield market.
