Pershing Square added 1.8 million Amazon shares and increased Microsoft holdings, making them top portfolio positions.
Billionaire investor Bill Ackman increased his hedge fund’s stake in Amazon by 19% during Q1, purchasing 1.8 million shares. The move made Amazon Pershing Square Capital Management’s second-largest holding, comprising over 17% of its portfolio as of March 31.
Ackman also added to his Microsoft position, one of only two stocks bought in the quarter. The filings reflect holdings as of March 31, though Amazon’s stock has since risen nearly 30%. The investment thesis centers on Amazon Web Services, driven by high demand from AI firms.
Pershing Square’s portfolio remains concentrated, with Ackman selling several other stocks during the quarter.
