Trans Mountain Corp. has launched a second open season to secure commitments for an additional 72,000 barrels per day of capacity on its expanded pipeline. The move follows the current open season, which began in early April and targets further expansion of the route linking Alberta to Canada’s west coast.

The company plans to increase total capacity by 90,000 barrels per day soon using drag reduction agents, according to its CEO. This follows prior expansions, which have already boosted throughput on the critical export corridor.

No immediate market reaction was reported, though the additional capacity could ease bottlenecks for Canadian crude exports.
