Montero Mining launches a 2,025-metre drill program targeting high-priority gold and copper-gold zones in Chile.
Montero Mining and Exploration Ltd (TSX-V:MON, OTC:MXTRF) has commenced drilling at its Elvira Gold Project in Chile, focusing on high-priority targets within an epithermal and porphyry copper-gold system. The initial program includes four holes totaling approximately 2,025 metres, with the first hole targeting a chargeability anomaly beneath the historical EL-12 area.
Historical drilling in the EL-12 zone by Buena Vista Gold intersected 4 metres at 4.9 grams per tonne gold, including a high-grade section of 17.85 g/t gold. Montero aims to test the connection between shallow epithermal gold and deeper porphyry copper-gold targets, with subsequent holes planned for other high-potential zones.
The company completed site preparation and mobilization ahead of the campaign, with potential adjustments to follow based on initial results.
