Inclusion in widely tracked benchmarks may draw passive inflows despite SharpLink’s 95% stock decline over the past year.
SharpLink Gaming (SBET), a firm backed by Ethereum co-founder Joe Lubin, will join the Russell 2000 and Russell 3000 indexes on June 29. The move could attract institutional investors tracking these benchmarks, which collectively represent $12 trillion in assets.
The company holds approximately 873,000 ETH, valued at around $1.8 billion. SharpLink is among firms that adopted crypto treasury strategies last year, though many have since paused or reduced digital asset purchases.
SharpLink’s stock has fallen 95% from its peak, reflecting broader challenges in the digital asset treasury space. Index inclusion may boost trading volumes and institutional ownership.
