FTSE Russell’s potential addition of BMNR to the Russell 1000 could drive passive fund inflows amid Ether accumulation goals.

Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) may join the Russell 1000 index, aligning it with large-cap equities like Nvidia, Microsoft, and Apple. Inclusion could trigger automatic purchases by passive funds, boosting liquidity and investor exposure to its Ether holdings. FTSE Russell will finalize updates on June 5, 12, and 18, with changes effective June 26.

BMNR shares closed at $18.88 on Friday, down over 30% year-to-date but up from a July 3 spike to $135. The firm holds 5.28 million Ether, about 4.37% of Ethereum’s total supply, targeting 6 million tokens. Ether’s price drop to $4,946 from its all-time high has left Bitmine with an estimated $7.3 billion in paper losses.

Bitmine’s Ether treasury plan, announced in July 2025, aims to hold 5% of the circulating supply of 120.7 million tokens. The company currently needs 756,538 more Ether to reach its goal, with executives viewing recent price declines as a buying opportunity.
