Alphabet introduces Gemini Flash 3.5, a faster and cheaper AI model, targeting consumer markets and agentic AI applications.

Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL, GOOG) introduced Gemini Flash 3.5, a new AI model designed for speed and cost efficiency, at its annual Google I/O conference. The company stated the model can perform tasks at half or even a third of competitors’ costs, enabling scalable deployment across consumer products like Google Search and the Gemini app.

The model supports long-horizon agentic AI tasks and powers new tools such as Universal Cart, an AI-driven shopping assistant. Alphabet also redesigned its search bar for the first time in 25 years to accommodate longer user queries. These updates reflect Alphabet’s push into agentic AI and broader consumer adoption.

No immediate market reaction was reported following the announcements.
