The company will raise prices by 10-20 cents on select single-serve chip bags amid rising production and distribution costs.
PepsiCo will increase prices on certain smaller chip bags by 10 to 20 cents, targeting products currently retailing at $2.69. The changes, set for late June, follow recent price reductions on larger bags due to consumer pushback.
The company stated that some single-serve products had maintained steady prices for nearly 15 years. The move reflects ongoing cost pressures from production, distribution, and retail expenses in the US, unrelated to geopolitical factors like the war in Iran.
A spokesperson confirmed the hikes will affect only a limited number of single-serve items, with some smaller bags already removing suggested retail prices from packaging.
