iShares Select Dividend ETF (DVY) paid a record $1.61 per share in Q4 2025, its highest quarterly distribution to date. The fund, which tracks the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index, sources dividends from 100 U.S. companies screened for payout history and yield, delivering a 3.5% trailing yield.

DVY’s portfolio tilts toward defensive sectors, with 25% in utilities, 23% in financials, and 14% in consumer staples. Distributions are passed directly to shareholders after a 38 basis point expense ratio, with no leverage or return-of-capital adjustments. The fund has maintained consistent payouts for 22 years.

The ETF’s income stream remains tied to underlying corporate dividends, avoiding synthetic or leveraged strategies. Its focus on durable income has positioned it as a long-term holding for retirees and income-focused investors.
