Berkshire Hathaway buys $15.94 billion in equities
Berkshire Hathaway unveiled a wide-ranging portfolio overhaul, adding a new stake in Delta Air Lines and increasing its stake in Alphabet.
The company bought $15.94 billion in equities but sold $24.09 billion during the first quarter.
This move may indicate a change in the company’s investing approach under new CEO Greg Abel, with a possible shift towards speedier portfolio reshuffling and bigger technology bets.
The filing also showed Berkshire exiting household names such as Amazon, UnitedHealth, Visa, and Mastercard, with the company jettisoning billions of dollars in holdings.
