Home Depot reports 0.6% global same-store sales growth in fiscal Q1, marking a turnaround after eight quarters of declines.
Home Depot posted a 0.6% increase in global comparable-store sales for its fiscal first quarter, extending a four-quarter streak of positive growth. U.S. same-store sales rose 0.4%, driven by a 2.2% rise in average ticket size, though transactions fell 1.3%.
The improvement follows eight consecutive quarters of declining U.S. same-store sales, signaling a recovery in demand. Big-ticket items, defined as purchases of $1,000 or more, grew 0.8%, while professional sales outperformed do-it-yourself buyers.
Despite the sales rebound, Home Depot’s stock has fallen nearly 30% from its highs, contrasting with its resilience during prior sales declines.
