The European Central Bank will raise fixed fees for dedicated cash accounts and adjust RTGS pricing starting next month.
The European Central Bank’s Governing Council has approved a revised pricing policy for the T2 real-time gross settlement system, set to take effect on 1 July 2026. The changes include higher fixed monthly fees for dedicated cash accounts and a recalibration of volume-based charges, according to the decision released today.
The policy update follows a review of T2’s cost structure and aims to align pricing with evolving market infrastructure demands. The ECB last adjusted T2 fees in 2021, when it introduced tiered pricing for high-volume participants. No immediate market reaction was reported.
Separately, the ECB also authorized publication of its May 2026 Financial Stability Review, which examines risks including AI-driven sentiment analysis and rising corporate bankruptcies despite low non-performing loan ratios.
