The partnership introduces never-expiring Brent and WTI futures contracts to OKX’s retail user base using ICE’s benchmark prices.
Intercontinental Exchange and crypto exchange OKX are rolling out perpetual oil futures contracts tied to ICE’s Brent and WTI benchmarks. The new products will be accessible to OKX’s 120 million retail traders in regions where the exchange is licensed to offer perpetual futures.
The move follows the success of Hyperliquid’s perpetual oil futures, which surpassed $1.6 billion in 24-hour trading volume. ICE’s involvement brings regulated energy benchmarks to the crypto market, reflecting broader convergence between traditional finance and digital assets.
Regulators are expected to increase oversight of perpetual futures, while ICE deepens its strategic partnership with OKX, where it holds a stake.
