Bitcoin ETF outflows reach $1.3 billion over four days as institutions reduce exposure amid macro uncertainty.
The Coinbase premium, a gauge of institutional demand for Bitcoin, fell to its lowest level this month. Analysts attribute the decline to hedging strategies and profit-taking by larger holders amid macroeconomic uncertainty, which may pressure near-term crypto prices.
US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $1.3 billion in outflows over four trading days since May 14. Open interest in Bitcoin futures and perpetual contracts also dropped by $1.5 billion this week, signaling reduced leverage and weaker derivatives demand. Bitcoin’s price fell 4.5% over the past week, trading flat at $77,621 after hitting a monthly low near $76,000.
The reset in long positioning and exhausted short-side fuel suggest the next major price move hinges on spot demand recovery.
