Fairshake PAC secures victories in three state primaries after deploying $20M to support pro-crypto candidates and oppose critics.
A political action committee funded by the crypto industry has claimed success in three US state primaries after spending $20M to back pro-crypto candidates. Fairshake and its affiliates hold a $193 million war chest, exceeding their 2024 spending of $130 million on media and ads for congressional races.
Despite high expenditures, not all efforts yielded results. The PAC spent $8 million opposing Illinois Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton in her Senate primary, but she secured over 40% of the vote. In Texas, Protect Progress, a Fairshake affiliate, spent $4.1 million supporting Democratic candidate Christian Menefee against incumbent Al Green, who opposes crypto-friendly legislation.
The PAC also allocated $2.8 million on media opposing Green, citing his votes against the GENIUS Act and CLARITY Act. Additional spending included $1.5 million targeting Green ahead of the primary.
