Two vessels loaded with over 4 million barrels of crude are en route to China amid eased Hormuz transit rules.
Two supertankers carrying Iraqi and Qatari crude oil departed the Strait of Hormuz bound for China, according to vessel tracking data. The cargoes, totaling approximately 4 million barrels, were loaded in late February and early March by Chinese state-owned firms Unipec and Sinochem.
Recent tensions in the Strait had raised concerns over energy flows, though Iran recently permitted 30 vessels to pass under new bilateral agreements. The shipments follow a period of heightened scrutiny over Hormuz transits, a critical chokepoint for global oil supplies.
No immediate market reaction was reported, but the deliveries signal continued demand from China despite regional geopolitical risks.
