Allegiant Travel Company finalized its acquisition of Sun Country Airlines in a $1.5 billion cash-and-stock deal. The transaction unites two leisure-focused carriers, expanding their network to 175 cities and 650 routes with a fleet of 195 aircraft.

The deal received regulatory and shareholder approvals, with both airlines retaining separate brands and loyalty programs initially. Combined annual passenger volume is estimated at 22 million. Allegiant plans gradual integration, including network benefits for customers over time.

Operational jobs are secure, though back-office redundancies may occur as administrative functions merge. Sun Country’s Minneapolis-St. Paul hub remains a key asset for the combined entity.
