Eni has engaged Morgan Stanley to structure a fund deal for its floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) assets, aiming to raise at least €1 billion. The proposed vehicle would allow outside investors to contribute capital tied to cash flows from Eni’s FLNG operations without ceding control of the business.

Early discussions have included infrastructure investors such as Apollo, KKR, and Stonepeak. The move follows growing demand for LNG as a transition fuel, with floating assets offering flexibility in production and deployment. Eni’s FLNG portfolio includes projects in Africa and Asia.

No immediate market reaction was reported, though the deal could signal broader sector interest in asset monetization strategies.
