Howden has acquired Cybeta’s intellectual property to enhance its cyber insurance capabilities in the US. The move follows the launch of Howden’s dedicated US cyber practice earlier in 2026, signaling aggressive expansion in the market.

A GlobalData poll in Q1 2026 found 32.1% of insurance industry insiders cite accurate cyber risk assessment as the primary barrier to offering coverage. The acquisition will allow Howden to incorporate real-time threat data into its models, improving risk correlation and enabling preventative client alerts.

Cyber insurance has struggled with high premiums due to unreliable historical data and evolving risks. The integration of Cybeta’s IP aims to address these challenges by refining pricing and risk management strategies.
