Bitcoin opened at $82,164.43 on Monday, its strongest start since January 31, before slipping to $80,971.89 as of 7:16 a.m. ET. Ethereum followed a similar pattern, opening at $2,369.40—its highest since April 27—then declining to $2,331.11.

BTC’s opening price was 1.9% higher than Sunday’s, with gains of 4.6% over the past week and 12.6% over the past month. Ethereum rose 1.8% from Sunday’s open, though both cryptocurrencies remain below their all-time highs of $126,198.07 (BTC) and $4,953.73 (ETH).

Markets reacted to geopolitical developments, including President Trump’s rejection of Iran’s peace proposal, which drove oil prices higher and gold lower. Treasury yields also ticked upward, while stock futures held steady.
