More than 40 vessels destined for India, including nearly half carrying crude oil, LPG, LNG, and fertilizer, remain stranded near the Strait of Hormuz. The bottleneck has delayed critical energy and commodity shipments, raising concerns over supply chain disruptions for Indian markets.

Indian authorities have identified 41 ships for priority evacuation, with 13 flagged to India still stuck west of the strait. The delays follow heightened regional tensions, though no immediate cause for the blockage was specified. Similar disruptions in 2022 caused temporary spikes in global energy prices.

Markets have yet to react significantly, but prolonged delays could pressure India’s energy imports and fertilizer supplies, potentially tightening domestic inventories.
