Three US guided-missile destroyers—USS Truxtun, USS Rafael Peralta, and USS Mason—were targeted by Iranian missiles, drones, and small boats while transiting the Strait of Hormuz. No US assets were hit during the attack, which US Central Command described as unprovoked and coordinated.

The destroyers were en route to the Gulf of Oman when the assault occurred. US forces responded under self-defense protocols, striking Iranian missile and drone launch sites, command posts, and surveillance nodes. The engagement marks a significant escalation in regional tensions.

The Strait of Hormuz is a critical chokepoint for global oil shipments, handling roughly one-fifth of the world’s petroleum trade. No immediate disruption to maritime traffic was reported, but the incident raises concerns over supply chain stability.
